BNP Paribas today announced the appointment of Nicolas Pillet as General Manager of its Tokyo Branch, effective October 1. Nicolas is succeeding Masayuki Imai. Tatsuhisa Ishikawa remains Deputy General Manager.
Nicolas Pillet has been with the BNP Paribas Group since 2008 and was most recently Deputy Head of Investment Banking Coverage for the Asia-Pacific region. Before moving to Asia he was Head of Group Financial Management based in Paris. Prior to joining BNP Paribas he was Head of Unit at the French Government Shareholding Agency within the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance. Nicolas will report to Philippe Avril, Chief Country Officer for BNP Paribas in Japan.
Masayuki Imai will relocate to Paris as Head of Japanese Corporate Coverage for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. BNP Paribas continues its drive to accompany its key Japanese clients through its physical presence in over 30 countries in the EMEA region across a full range of banking products and services. Masayuki Imai has been with the BNP Paribas Group since 1995 after joining Banque Paribas. Prior to being appointed General Manager in 2012 he was Head of Coverage for BNP Paribas Tokyo Branch.
