BNP Paribas Securities (Japan) Limited today announced governance changes in the structure of its management to reinforce business growth while enhancing supervisory responsibilities.
Effective October 1, 2017, BNP Paribas Securities (Japan) Limited will operate with two Representative Directors: Philippe Avril and Tony W Leung. As a result, current CEO and Representative Director, Philippe Avril is appointed to a new position as Chairman and has direct supervision of the Risk, Compliance and Legal control functions. Tony W Leung is appointed CEO, overseeing the business and client activities. Tony W Leung will report to Philippe Avril.
Tony W Leung relocates to Tokyo from his current position with BNP Paribas as COO for Global Markets Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong. Tony has 25 years of experience in front office businesses including Equities and Global Markets. Prior to joining BNP Paribas in 2007 he held senior management roles at firms including UBS, HSBC and JPMorgan.
