About BNP Paribas in Japan
BNP Paribas has long-term relationships with leading organisations and in depth knowledge of the Japan market. The history of BNP Paribas in Japan dates back to 1867 when Comptoir National d’Escompte de Paris, the predecessor to BNP Paribas, opened a branch office in Yokohama. BNP Paribas Tokyo Branch was established in 1973.
Today, BNP Paribas is one of the largest foreign financial institutions in Japan. BNP Paribas provides clients access to the world through one of the largest international banking networks delivering specialist solutions.
BNP Paribas employs around 700 people in Japan in its core businesses of Corporate & Institutional Banking through BNP Paribas Tokyo Branch and BNP Paribas Securities (Japan) Limited, and Investment & Protection Services through BNP Paribas Asset Management Japan Ltd and Cardif Assurance Vie Japan & Cardif Assurances Risques Divers Japan.
In 2023, BNP Paribas will have over 150 years of experience in Japan and the Tokyo Branch will mark its 50th anniversary.
